The Association of American Literary Agents (AALA) is an organization of professional literary agents in the United States. Its member agents provide author representation and guidance in all phases of the publishing process. Member agents are bound by the highest standards of professional practice and adhere to a strict Canon of Ethics. Not all literary agents are members of the AALA.

The website provides options for searching AALA member databases:

> Use “Agents by Name” to type in an individual agent name, find a profile, subject focus, and contact information.

> “Agents by Category” lists multiple subgenres under the categories of Fiction, Nonfiction, and Children’s.

> “View List” is an alphabetized (by first name) list of agents, contact information, submissions status, years of experience, and date of AALA membership.
